I love the sparkly dress picture on this one:
"If we have been stuck for some time, along comes Uranus to give us a get out of jail free card. Uranus transits can open us up to a whole new lease of life. Uranus' colour is electric blue, and the planet is the joker in the pack, the wild card. Uranus rules computers, unconventional studies, Science, space and electronic interests. Uranus rules the modern age, technology and electricity. Uranus is also considered to be the planet of astrology and is everything that is mad, crazy and even genius. We usually find quick solutions to problems, and if Mercury is involved we want take up a new study.
The individual may seem to be a bit cold when they cut off old ties that hold them back from realizing their true potential. I have seen two women under Uranus transiting natal Jupiter quickly bolt out of the confines of a marriage. It's like a green light goes on and they head for greener pastures and see a whole new picture. The social life may become much more exciting under Uranus transits especially with Venus involved and if a new relationship happens it is usually with somebody who has a very different background, upbringing, and personality. Uranus transits to Venus may change our finance, open up new talents and all matters of artistic ventures.
Uranus can trigger breakups in relationships, and usually it is borne out of a need for freedom. Quite often squares to personal planets (Sun,Moon, Venus and Mars) can shake up relationships. Sometimes we find that we have changed and outgrown our partner and have new goals to pursue. We can have whirlwind love affairs that happen fast and progress even faster. One woman with transiting Uranus conjunct her natal Sun met a man, fell in love and got pregnant, and this happened after she had tried for two years with a previous partner with no success. The woman also took up astrology studies and learned to use a computer during this time.Uranus transits can be exciting and exhilarating and we can try something new and untried. If we like routine Uranus transits can be difficult. Many of us feel bored and want change in our lives and begin to get restless, itching for something to happen unexpectedly. We may find it hard to relax under these transits, and the drive for Independence is usually powerful, particularly with Uranus transiting over Mars. Extreme willful energy may reveal itself through accidents with sharp objects, sudden surgery, fire, electrical shocks, mishaps with machinery and vehicles. The sudden onset of panic attacks and nervous energy, twitches and tics are also common."

"Where Uranus touches a planet in a natal chart, that planet’s natural instincts have been changed or damaged by cultural, social and familial conditioning. If we have Uranus square Venus, we are sensitive to the cultural messages about beauty, being a woman, and relationship: ie, being married by age 28 and have a baby by 35 may not be our true life path. The power to belong, be accepted, be apart of the crowd has been overpowered the true nature of our planet. The crazy thing is, we have no idea how crazy this is! How many times have I heard, “I should be married by now…” from clients? A lot. Wherever natal Uranus falls in our birth chart, we have to drop the baggage of cultural programming, over and over. The Promethean journey involves stealing back our fire – our individuality, our soul. To steal it back we must stubbornly insist on our right to discover the True Nature of our Self (our planetary archetype), and not what other people want for us or tell us we should want. To do this we must develop a thick skin and aversion toward cultural pressure (hint: in practice, this looks a lot like rebellion). But Uranus isn’t entirely about acceptance and belonging; it encompasses any culturally distorting message that derails us."

So as you probably know by now, I have been wigging the hell out at the idea of Uranus going through my sixth house. (One particularly panicky example can be found here.) I have naturally assumed that I am going to get my ass canned, since I am low man on the totem pole at work, the universe probably wants me to move the fuck on already, etc.
So far that hasn't happened--I have been temporarily working my job (which hasn't had much going on in summer) AND another job for the summer, at least until they decide to hire someone else or whatever to handle it. That one has been going very well and my second supervisor totally loves me these days.
Well, I got bad news and good news. The bad news is that the thing I work on at my regular job, that I have been doing for 10 years, is being discontinued. Pretty much because the vendor of the product has been flushing down the toilet and not doing their jobs correctly/at all. And since I am low woman on the totem pole, realistically speaking they wouldn't need me any more to do what I do.
However...would I be interested in working in another related group instead? Does some similar things to what I do? Same pay grade so I wouldn't be laid off or losing pay? By all means, let me at it! Sounds like it has more variety going on as well. More public-service-y (I will miss being in the "quiet office", but not my location within said office), but by now I am kinda used to that given the temporary job. So it's all going to be fine.
I am pleased that so far Uranus hasn't been a total streak of "you are constantly unemployed and can't get a job to save your life for seven years." So far, anyway. Changes at work, fine, as long as it's going my way.

So, who wanted to live in the late 60's? Woo free love, right?
How's about the Great Depression? Not that one, eh?
"Let that sink in: In making sense of where we collectively are right now, our two closest reference points are The Sixties and The Great Depression. And this astrological energy is only reaching its first of seven exact Uranus-Pluto squares, lasting through 2015… and remaining within orb-of-influence through 2017. When the next history books are written, much of this current decade will ultimately prove to reflect a similar such dramatic turning-point."
"As I've said before, under this type of disruptive epoch-defining astrology, there is simply no going backward to the imagined idyll of our past. In fact, even hoping to tread in place, putting in just enough to barely keep your head above water, is not enough of a response. We must think revolution, if we not only want to save ourselves but thrive as never before… while, at the same time, finally addressing those gnawing problems we haven't adequately handled in the past. Then, we must act it, bravely but compassionately, knowingly embracing the chaotic bumps that are an inescapable side-effect of creative progress."
"Pluto in Capricorn and Uranus in Aries will form an exact square 7 times over the next 3 years. Will they hurt? Depends on where they hit your chart. Check the houses with Capricorn and Aries. Those are the areas of your life where old and new will collide. This will not be an easy transit. A literal death will not necessarily happen but a metaphorical death (say goodbye to an outdated relationship/lifestyle/habit/job) is in the works. And some wonderful things can emerge. Because if there’s one thing you can count on with Uranus, it’s the unexpected. Changes will come at you out of left-field, but so might new life."
Gulp. Most of them are on my south node or natal Mercury. Shiiiiiiiiiiiit.
Wonder why...
you can be so fired up one day about a person, place or thing
and feel so blah and uncertaiin and anxious and worried the next?
Not even one DAY to the next.
One minute to hte next.
You can be all inspired and jazzed and enthusiastic and optimistic
about a project or a relationship.
And then you think it's all a bunch of baloney.
It erodes your self-confidence as well.
You can be all hopped up and energetic, in a hurry to put it out there, but then..but then..
you just don't give a flying crap about it.
Well, you do, but the obstacles are too great.
The effort is impossible to maintain. One second you want it NOW the next second you think its not worth the wait then you tell yourself be calm be cool everything takes time
then agian you say its not worth it and back and forth ten times.
It's cosmic.
That is exactly the vibration going on: a contest between microwaving a slice of pizza
and slow roasting a potato.
This conflict that will NOT go away immediately.
Uranus in Aries is hot because Aries is hot.
It needs immediate attention.
It craves action NOW, not tomorrow or even five mintues from now.
It wants what it wants when it wants it. It's tired of waiting around for results.
God helps those who help themselves type thing.
It's NOW goddammit, Now!
it's Lady Ga-ga at her most outrageous.
Its Russell Crowe throwing a phone at a wall.
It's a molotov cockatil party.
it's everything you do when you are y fed up with being manipulate and pushed around.
PLUTO IN CAPRICORN, however, is cold because Capricorn is cold.
It waits
It watches.
It reacts slowly and deliberately.
It doens't fly off the handle or come in its pants.
It is the calculation of the possibility of results before moving forward.
It understands the consequences of every act and therefore it protects its king with its pawns..
Not the swiftest player on the team but the one with the endurance.
It grows slowly like a Sequoia tree,
like moss,
like mold in your bathroom, and just as hard to cut down and get rid of.
It can always be counted on for its wisdom,
because it has the benefit of allowing experience to teach it before jumpiing into anything.
Or anyone.
The two forces are operating in the heavens. In world politics. And in your head.
That's why you're hot one day and cold the next.
It's cosmic menopause.

"Why is it so difficult for some people to change? They remain stuck in the same negative relationships/habits/jobs for decades. It’s clear as day to others that they need to evolve. But they don’t.
I did a very quick survey of the natal charts I have on file. Specifically, I looked for commonalities in the charts of people I’ve known for years who have remained stuck. What I found was that all these people have planets in their 12th House."
And suddenly that explains everything...
"The 12th (naturally ruled by Pisces) is the most difficult part of the chart to access. It represents the subconscious, the hidden, the secret. Having planets in this house is similar to glimpsing something out of the corner of your eye. When you turn to look at it, it vanishes. So any behavior symbolized by these planets will be just as difficult to pin down."
And of course, this is my chart ruler in there.
"Basically, the 12th House is a blind spot. How do you deal with it? If 12th House planets are making aspects to any other part of the chart, this is the access route. For example, Sun in the 12th trine Moon in the 4th can find clarity through emotional (Moon) connections to the past (4th House). Talk to your Mom. Revisit childhood friends/events. Will it be painful? Guaranteed. Awareness of the 12th means sacrificing something, even if it’s your illusions. Also, look at the ruler of the 12th. Aries on the cusp of the 12th House would make Mars the ruler. What’s happening with this planet in the chart? Action, independence and instinct (Mars ruled areas) would be the keys to unlocking the mystery."
Hm....so, my big one for that would be Mercury in the 6th (opposite Pluto), or maybe Uranus (1st) or Neptune (2nd). Chart ruler is Venus in 7th.... So thinking about the day-to-day practical shit in life would cover the Mercury bit. And yeah, that's what I'm running into now. Realizing that I have to postpone the move because at the very least, my driving alone is probably not up to handling 4 hours a day on the freeway or whatever at this point.
As for the 7th house, yeah, partnering helps the situation, when I can find one.
I do worry about what will happen to me if I don't move on my own, though :( I've got one planet in the zap zone (Jupiter) and two planets (Mars and moon) in the "positive Uranus zap zone."
