This is a pretty kickass book, I think. It seems to be a sequel to previous novels of the author's, but in a different world- magical rather than werewolf.
Our heroine, Paige Winterbourne, lost her mother to a half-demon, and is currently the guardian of a thirteen-year-old witch, Savannah, whose mother died at the hands of the same half-demon. Paige was her mother's intended heir to take over the Coven, but taking over the Coven isn't going to be remotely as easy as Paige thought it might be. Especially when Savannah's father decides to try and get custody of her...and he turns out to be a sorcerer from a Cabal, and the Coven turns its back on the two of them. Their only aid comes in the form of another sorcerer lawyer, Lucas, who's got more going on than he'll say.
It's a rollicking ride, and I thought it was pretty good. I'd like to see a sequel to this one featuring Lucas.
