Once Upon Stilettos
This is the sequel to Enchanted, Inc., and it's just as enjoyable.
Katie Chandler's currently dating one guy at work while quietly wishing she could date another. She's also got her parents coming into town, and she's afraid they'll be trying to campaign for her to move back home to Texas. AND there seems to be a spy within MSI, and Katie's boss has asked her to track down that person.
Katie's good with tracking gossip and reading people, but it's darned tricky, especially in a place where everyone knows and gossips about everything. And Phelan Idris, the company's enemy, keeps hanging around. Pretty soon, life is pretty zooey.
And when Katie's parents come to town, it turns out that magical immunity is inheritable...and Katie must have gotten it from her mom. Katie tries to make sure her mom doesn't figure out that what she's seeing is real and magical...but at the same time, Katie seems to be losing her own magical immunity. Which scares the crap out of her, not to mention makes her wonder if she'll lose her job.
It's a good read, with a satisfying ending. Four stars.
