It's how i found this site and i want to express my sorrow
Posted by: NO SCRA MAKES ME CRY | June 25, 2008 at 10:21 PM
I googled it immediately because I just saw steampunked out laptops and loved the idea and the thought of music going along with the madness was amazing. Now my hopes are crushed, damn you Jeph.
Posted by: Depressed and Resentful | June 25, 2008 at 10:26 PM
yep, same here
Posted by: me wants scra | June 25, 2008 at 10:32 PM
I also googled it, hoping it actually existed. Now my hopes are crushed that it doesn't actually exist.
Posted by: I too want it | June 25, 2008 at 10:46 PM
Arrrgh!
Great Jeph, now I wanna be a Melodithurge when i gro up. Like I need a career change at this late date, where was this idea 30 years ago!?
You tease.
Posted by: Jason | June 25, 2008 at 10:47 PM
This is just a drive-by posting, as I fell for the same joke from Jeph that you all did. However, I would suggest you all Google the name "Abner Park". You're dreams will be realized.
Posted by: Darren Landrum | June 25, 2008 at 11:03 PM
Argh! Sorry, that's "Abney Park." So much for a drive-by posting.

How come nobody has done something like that? In fact, who wants to create this band with me?
Posted by: Xander | June 25, 2008 at 11:09 PM
Damn you Jeph!
Posted by: Mr Evil | June 25, 2008 at 11:31 PM
This band should totally exist, curse you jeph for false hope...
If anyone is making this band i am SO in!!!
Posted by: shadhe | June 25, 2008 at 11:47 PM
googles and dissapointed. but can we get the shirt? if we had it we could at least get others to try to google it and be as happy as jeph when everyone fails as horribly as we did.
PS, im glad the first thing i clicked on was a forum where others tried the same thing i did, and those were nice lyrics, can we expect a whole song?
Posted by: infinate | June 26, 2008 at 12:24 AM
I was so very sad that they aren't a real band!! I wanted to download that song right away.
maybe a group of us could start it.
Posted by: kitty | June 26, 2008 at 12:33 AM

Posted by: ckwol | June 26, 2008 at 12:44 AM
Next time Gadget. Next time!!!!
Posted by: Matt | June 26, 2008 at 12:51 AM
I'd be up for forming this band.
In the meantime I'll have to make do with "The Shortwave Set"
Posted by: BigRedX | June 26, 2008 at 12:53 AM
those lyrics sounded so promising.. well at this point would not wonder if it wont take long for that to form...
Posted by: -- | June 26, 2008 at 01:32 AM
:( Damn you Jeph Jacques! Damn you for coming up with awesome imaginary bands.
I definitely think this should be rule 35'd, which I realize is usually reserved for porn, but I think it can be stretched to include this.
Posted by: Andrew | June 26, 2008 at 01:54 AM
I did more than just google it. I even used Wiki, after all he knows all the exists. my first thought was 'Steampunk Guitar' and thought it was an awesome idea so i wanted to hear some of their music...sad day for all of us -_-
Posted by: Illerhas | June 26, 2008 at 02:00 AM
Totally agree. The moment I saw that comic i was like 'Whoa!' and googled it immediately. Then I found this page. :'( I'm gunna go cry now.
Posted by: Animus | June 26, 2008 at 02:10 AM
I even googled "melodithurge" and it doesn't exist either.
Posted by: Kevin | June 26, 2008 at 03:30 AM
Oh mannn, I was so hopeful when this page came up. Someone form this band, stat.
Posted by: Ace | June 26, 2008 at 03:40 AM
Came here googling for it.
Bummer.
Mind you, aren't there any guys into steampunk ready and able to rock?
It would be GREAT.
