"Do we need to just get over wanting comments?"
I've never given a shit as to whether or not I get any or not--about 90% of 'em are spam anyway--but given the overall trend of "nobody wants to do anything other than tweet one sentence and like your post," well... sigh.

I kind of miss comments -- likes are no substitute. In fact, I've noticed that most of the likes I get on posts are, in effect, basically just spam. They all link back to one-page blogs that are just ads for whatever it is that people are selling.
Even legitimate likes are near worthless. Commentors can provide information and insight, but what are likes good for?

I think you and I are the only folks who leave comments any more. Happily, I like reading yours since you actually have something to say. I think if I didn't get the occasional remark, I might just kill them altogether, instead of just any post that Twihards might find :P
I miss people having something to say. Yeah, likes don't really do anything. (Ditto "winks," whatever that is.) I really wish that wasn't the dominating trend, but it is.
