Birthday crafting
Last year my shrink suggested that I do a craft on my birthday. I thought this was an excellent suggestion, and ended up making this. (Yes, it's posted the day before, I didn't exactly have time on the day of to make. Gee, just like this year.)
I am currently trying to figure out what to make this year. I am kind of brain-dead on jewelry, want to make something wearable, and will probably end up knitting/crocheting something while I am at my volunteer job.
Possibilities:
- Crocheted wrapped-rock pendants. I think I'll have to do this one anyway even if I don't do it soon, because I AM BRAIN DEAD on what to make for Whole Earth this year. (I am actually considering NOT doing it, it's that bad. Between me not selling any of my new stuff last year and not having made anything this year that looks "old school" that I want to get rid of, and feeling totally uninspired by my stash, AND my mom will be in town all damn weekend wanting to be anywhere else but at Whole Earth, and I am burned out on other people's reactions to my work and feeling dead tired after WEF every year...it's dicey.)
- Watchband. I'd like to make one, I just need to get a WORKING watch face. All of mine are dead. Maybe I won't make this right now.
- Cable headband. Nice headband, though I don't know if I am in the mood to make one, per se.
- Crochet earrings (various patterns spotted) and necklaces: Not bad, but am not in luuuuv with any of them so far.
- Tower of Babel: Given my tower fixation, I should totally try it sometime. But, not wearable.
- Maiden's Glory: I'm always intending to make this one (really, I should, Beltane is coming up and it's time to get all floral and fancy). Might take me longer than a few hours though.
- A flower scarf (possibles here, here, here, here.). One of these might be the easiest thing to go for.
- Immaculate Heart (pattern in this book). Can't make this because I am so out of stuffing, but I want to. Mainly because I adore this heart that I bought on Etsy and kinda want more, but don't have a pattern for it and she sold out.
