12 inch squares are not as easy as they seem.

I'm rethinking this afghan squares idea already.

 I didn't bother to measure square #1 (the star overlay). But it looked pretty.

Square #2 (Esther's Square) I did because it's one of the two "assigned" ones on the Ravelry group. I had a surprisingly hard time with it, ending up with some sort of parabola thing that took me days and then I had to pull it all out.

I had my doubts it was going to make gauge (uh...12 inches = diagonally, not sideways, right? Um?). Then I realized that the blue star...is bigger than 12 inches no matter how you measure it.

I ended up taking off the border on it to make it "approximately" 12 inches, rather than starting it all over. I miss the pretty blue border.

This shit is harder than I thought it would be.
