I loved Secret Society Girl, and the sequel to it is even better.
It's the final school year for Digger class 177, and things don't seem to be quieting down for them any time soon. The infamous Rose and Grave reputation seems to be tarnishing. Not all new taps want to join up, someone starts sending out suspicious e-mails, and a "secretsofthediggers.com" website has popped up. The patriarchs are getting pissed off and starting to rescind their funding of the society. Our heroine, Amy, thinks she knows who's causing the drama, but now she has a "conspiracy theorist" reputation amongst the group and can't get anyone to listen to her. On top of that, she has to give her Connubial Bliss report, sees a fellow Digger get involved with her best friend, and finally gets her freak on with her notorious lady's-man society sibling.
(And let me just say, I have been reading just tons and tons and tons of sex scenes of late and have been pretty well burnt out, but this book made me sit up and get interested again. Hubba hubba.)
Later, Amy and her conspiracies turn out to be right, but she can't get support in a bad situation...forcing her to go to her least favorite patriarch for help. And it turns out there's more of a conspiracy going on than she knew... and some of the people she thought were friends may not be. Uh-oh...
The series continues to be gripping, especially on the social and personal levels and getting into the prejudice issue again. I am just loving it. There's "awww" moments, there's bonding of all sorts, and it's a fun read. (Hell, I am actually rereading it right after reading it, which I don't do too much of.) I will be looking forward to the third book!
Four stars from me.
