The final book in the Ransom(e) series is narrated by the brothers, their dad Will, and Daisy (the other ladies, alas, don't get chapters). It takes place nine weeks after the last book, and Will has been shut out by the brothers (especially Reed, who's still hella mad), is hanging out at a bar a lot, and hitting it off with the bartender. After he tells the guys that they're in breach of contract by not doing a big European tour--which at least a few of thee guys are just not up for right now--they compromise and do a Los Angeles residency and live all in the same location for a while.
Daisy has a special surprise for Daltrey, which ah, gives Paige another project opportunity. However, Paige isn't feeling so well these days, which turns out to be concerning. Also not feeling great for other reasons is Sam, which are...well, you can probably guess what happens to escalate her and Cash's relationship and make her kid Wyatt a bit nervous about c-c-changes. Reed needs to chill and get his head out of his ass a bit. Everyone needs to play with the baby and have some babysitting hilarity. There's a wee bit of mama drama. HEA's are on the way, though.
I enjoyed this book a lot, though as a compilation book for everyone, well, there's reasonably only so much one can handle in it. This means that some folks (Levi, Karen, Lennon, Haylee) who were most recently featured in books and are doing well so far get short shrift. Which is a bit of a bummer, but I can understand why she had to focus down there and some folks are still recent enough in their relationships to not ah, need to progress faster right this second. I felt the urge to reread the entire series after finishing this one and I think I was more into the other five books (more immediate focus when you only have two to juggle, I guess), but this is still a nice closeout. So...three and a half stars.
So the Ransomes are doing fine, but the author is plotting a new series featuring Haylee's single bandmates in Intrigue. I'm not sure if I'm down for that or not as yet since the first book is gonna feature Lance and the only dude I remember in her band is James, but I have really enjoyed these brothers and their awesome girlfriends.
