I love that I have enough sweaters and knitted accessories of my own to go with this entire dang outfit. Though it did inspire me to decide to knit some black thigh-high legwarmers to go with it to keep me warm in yarn skirts still, rather than the pink ones I'm wearing in the pink that only go to the knee (which you can't see too well in the pics). I am working on designing a pattern for those.
Pattern notes: front is sized slightly differently from back- is slightly bigger.
Instructions tell you to “continue as for back” after adding on an
extra four stitches to the width, but this does not line up equally
with the back due to that adjustment. I ended up with 88 stitches at
the point where the skirt splits for the godets. I divided the godet
panels into 28/32/28 sts, adding extras on to the sides.
The
only issue with it is that the waist came out too big- argh, I hate
when my waist comes out in between “too small” and “too big” on
patterns. In this case, it actually FELL OFF right in front of my boss.
sigh I ended up making a chain and installing a drawstring
along the top of the skirt. Note to self: either put elastic or
drawstring in any yarn skirts, period!
Finished this in 19 days. God, I love the speed of crochet!
