Another calendar page

Continued from here. This month's theme (gee, a lot like January, isn't it?) is "create a vision." I've got another collage project/notebook/writing collection sort of idea with regards to goals that I want to work on in my spare time...not that I have major lots of it in April, so it had to be kind of a low-key goal for the month.

Awkward...

I am currently making the Excuses pattern, which I am loving. I love any excuse for ribbon yarn use, I like me some flowing kimono tops (I have three in my Ravelry queue and the yarn bought), yay. I even found two skeins of (more) Lion Brand Incredible yarn AT THE DOLLAR STORE CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?! to use in this. (Okay, so it's not all that rainbow-y the way I prefer, but...oh well, $2 yarn.)

But, I fucked up.

How, you ask?

When I did the gauge swatch for the yarn, I came out having to use size 11 needles (rather than the recommended 10) to hit gauge. Which is pretty much what has happened every time I use ribbon yarn, so I was not surprised.

I finished the main body of the top last night, just had the sleeves left to go. I tried it on.

And... yeah, there's a LOT OF GAPING HOLES in that ribbon yarn. Right across, oh, the boobie area.

Awkward.

I was all excited to be almost done with it, but now I have to take apart at LEAST the ribbon yarn and redo it in a smaller needle (screw the gauge), if not the entire bottom half. Hopefully I can still get it onto myself that way. Mainly I am just annoyed and hoping I don't totally have to redo the bottom half just because I buggered up the middle.

Y'know, just in time for spring...

Here is the Candy sweater, after I redid it a crapload of times and ended up scrapping most of my customizations other than making it into a pullover. Honestly...it just plain doesn't look good on me. *sigh* It fits me wonky, probably because I have no waist and somehow there's an extra inch between where the stripes are supposed to end and where the boobs begin.

Don't really know what to do with it.

Sigh.

Here's Cherie Amour. Not sure how that looks on me since I have no waist, either.

That said, it's a nice sweater to wear this time of year. And goes with the new skirt.

I finished the vest part of it this weekend, and one sleeve. Other sleeve left to go.

Made some jewelry lately

 Back to doing hemp again- this was a birthday present.

I found these two neat long beads in a store, that went well with this pendant I've had floating around for years. Makes an interesting choker.

I found some really cute bead and knitting-themed beads, so I had to make some bracelets with them.
