This was a drawing in which she had photocopied Van Gogh's cut into strips and we were supposed to glue them to paper and draw a compatible drawing around them. I ended up cutting off the bottom half of the paper because dear god, I got bored after awhile. I also ended up cutting the second strip into pieces and sticking it around the bottom. It looks better than it was to draw, in a sense.
This is Marilyn.
This is what a grid drawing usually looks like.
This is what it looks like when the teacher is all, "Draw the squares differently."
I drew the blouse on the left and bottom sides, the shoulders on the top and right sides, and scrambled the head in the middle.
I liked doing this one better.
Next week: self-portraits, weird style.
