I took a class in beeswax collage. You melt the beeswax in some kind of hot pot (crock pot, double boiler, something) and then paint your canvas, then take tissue paper or napkins or mulberry paper or Xerox and layer them on the paper and then paint with the beeswax to layer it on. Then you use a tiny quilting iron to melt off the excess (which was less fun).
My pieces came out pretty cool though:
Everyone says this one glows. I agree. It's just napkins and Xeroxed butterflies and a swirly with more napkin over it. Go figure.
Same idea with this one.
